I wish I got half excited about anything as my dog does when I walk in the door after being gone for months at a time. It’s comforting to know that I still manage to make someone’s day after all these years.

This weekend was the first weekend in a while that I was truely saddened that I discontinued my stay in Poway. I got misty-eyed walking into my room, and for once not because of the blindingly green coloring of my walls, but because my dad managed to not only make my bed for me, but also wash the sheets; and although it looked absolutely breathtaking, I made a last minute decision to sleep on the floor. An idea I’m still 100% stoked on.

But thanks again daddy, wherever you are.

And on Friday night I saw this guy:

and let me tell you… the man’s still got it.

Oh yeah, I have a brother now. Weird.

Lately I’ve been having the most vivid of dreams. I rarely remember them the morning after, however, during the dream it’s somethin’ else.

The past week I’ve, from what I remember, gone to Russia and back, raced across the Sahara on a camel, and solved several mysteries.

All in a day’s work really.

Today I watched one of my favorite movies of all time: Can’t Hardly Wait. It’s a hidden gem that one wouldn’t typically recognize solely by the name. When asked which movie I’m referring to, a simple reply of “The one with Jennifer Love Hewitt” is enough to jog someone’s memory that it’s the most awesome movie in the world. I love Ethan Embry’s character “Preston”; his undying love for Jennifer Love Hewitt (JLH for the die hard fans) “Amanda” despite the fact he’s never actually talked to her reminds me a lot of myself. His hope that everything is a sign that he and Amanda are destined to be with each other (i.e. Barry Manilow’s Mandy playing on the radio) is scarily accurate. Granted, at the end of the movie they do of course end up with each other, we know this because of the cliche freeze-frame-of-character-with-brief-description-of-where-they-are-now, which was typical for most movies in the late 90s.

It’s a cheesy movie with a cheesy story, but I love it for two reasons: the characters are easily relatable and hilarious, and I’m still waiting for someone to write a letter to me saying that for the past four years I still manage to take their breath away when I walk by them. I realize this is a stretch. Teen Comedies: they’re stupid, brainless, pathetic and easily my favorite genre of movie.

I’ve included a list of my top ten favorite Teen Comedies. I’ll marry the first person to watch all of them with me. In one day.

Easily one of my mom’s favorite movies, so, in turn, one of mine as well.

Changed my entire outlook on Halloween.

John Cusack’s best movie.

Someone once told me that I looked like Alicia Silverstone. It was probably my mom, but it was the best compliment I’ve ever received.

This movie is hilarious. Jake Ryan is a babe. And what girl doesn’t want this ending scene for every one of her birthdays prior to seeing this?
